What is Spyware?

What is Adware?

What is a Firewall?

Computer hardware and/or software that limits access to a computer over a network or from an outside source. Used to prevent computer hackers from getting into a computer system.

What is Joomla?

Joomla! is a free open source content management system for publishing content on the internet. The system can include many compenents that make publishing information on the web easy.

It is written in the PHP programming language and uses the MySQL database by default.

 

What is a Content Management System?

A content management system (CMS) is a computer application used to create, edit, manage, search and publish various kinds of digital media and electronic text. CMSs are frequently used for storing, controlling, versioning, and publishing industry-specific documentation such as news articles, operators' manuals, technical manuals, sales guides, and marketing brochures. The content managed may include computer files, image media, audio files, video files, electronic documents, and Web content.

In our case it is a sytem used to manage a website's content.  This system is very easy to learn.

What can a CMS do for me?

Once I have set up Joomla!, A content management sytem, you will be able to post your own articles, events, products, and just about anything else you will need up on the web.  In a sense it gives you a system to manage your own website.
